Robotic Research Continues to Provide Autonomy Kits to Support Military MUTTs in the Future
Robotic Research LLC, a leading provider of autonomy and robotic technologies to government and commercial customers, will continue to provide autonomy kits to support the multi-utility tactical transport (MUTT) vehicles in the future.
In recent news, the Department of Defense announced that it has awarded a $162.4 million, five-year contract for manufacturing of the squad multipurpose equipment transport (SMET) system. As additional MUTTs are manufactured and requested by government customers to be updated with autonomy kids, Robotic Research will continue to provide its AutoDrive™ kit implementations for this essential military vehicle. The MUTT is primarily used for delivering equipment to military units in the field and decreasing weight load for combat operations.
“Our team is proud to provide automation and other capabilities to this capable vehicle,” said Alberto Lacaze, president of Robotic Research. “These vehicles will play critical roles to military soldiers that are in combat, and we take honor in developing the advanced autonomous technologies to support the current and future MUTT vehicles for the SMET system.”
Robotic Research has been providing autonomous capabilities for the MUTT vehicle since 2015 and currently is under contract to provide these technologies for the vehicle in the future for a variety of DoD customers
