Eddie Mottern

President, RRAI Labs

Eddie Mottern is the President of RRAI and leads the continuous innovation and advanced prototyping efforts pursued by the company’s RRAI Labs division. This specialized team is dedicated to developing advanced technologies for use in RRAI products and services, including remote monitoring, advanced GPS signal processing, and other capabilities at the forefront of vehicle autonomy, situational awareness, and operations safety.

Eddie is a nationally recognized subject matter expert on robotics and autonomy with 20 years of experience in planning and management of government and commercial robotic programs. He previously led the company’s daily operations as Chief Operating Officer, managing some of the company’s largest programs, supervising budgeting operations, and driving expansion in commercial solutions where autonomy and ancillary technologies are in increasing demand to enhance public safety and save lives.

Prior to joining RRAI, Eddie served as a project manager for General Dynamics Robotic Systems. He is an authority on robotic engineering, having published numerous articles on the safe operation of unmanned systems in complex environments. Eddie earned a Master of Science in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and computer engineering from West Virginia University.
